Two Ross Community events
You could be involved as a paying guest, for want of a better description. (Sorry, but we need to raise money for a worthy cause.)
You could also be involved as a helper and the Rabbie-team organising the Supper is affy wee just now (awfully small in Anglish).
There is a Children's page and it would be good if some would draw/paint pictures, write poems etc which could be used to decorate the Ryefield Centre hall where the supper takes place.
With your encouragement, there will be a way of children too young to attend to be involved.
Fund-raising for Age Concern
Age Concern in Ross-on-Wye is working to raise funds for senior citizens of Ross.
This Age Concern project is very much a community-based activity. The idea is for all to be involved - as guests, as helpers - in any capacity they would like.
It is hoped that many will contribute food, wine, help and cash. There will be a list of sponsors on display at the supper and, later, on this website.
Today, January 15th , there is a somewhat small 'Rabbie-team', so send a message via the link lower down in this part of the column if you'd like to help.
Even better if you'd like to help with both activities.
You don't need to be on the team to contribute. If you don't have even a thimbleful of Scots blood in you, there's speeches to be made at the supper.
However, the team will be delighted with all volunteers to help in the afternoon and/or the evening.
Use the Link page to read about a typical Burns Dinner.
A Supper is more informal.
And now it's time for the Rabbie Team to get on with things. You, the reader doesn't need to wait, so please send us a message of support.
The aim is for all involved to enjoy themselves.
We'll keep you posted as to progress.
The Rabbie Team.
